How do I receive Bankruptcy Education?

This is the SECOND step you need to complete AFTER you have completed the pre-filing counseling and have filed for bankruptcy.  This education certificate is required before you can receive a discharge of your debts under the Bankruptcy Code.  Please scroll down if you want information on IN-PERSON classes held at the CCCS office.

ONLINE METHOD

1.  Print out Bankruptcy Affidavit.  Fill out completely and  mail ( or fax to 661-324-0750) the Affidavit, along with a copy of your valid photo ID, to CCCS, 5300 Lennox Avenue, Suite 200, Bakersfield, CA  93309.

2.  Print out Bankruptcy Education Disclosure.  Fill out completely and mail (or fax to 661-324-0750) to CCCS, 5300 Lennox Avenue, Suite 200, Bakersfield, CA  93309.

3.  Pay $50 Bankruptcy Education Course Fee.  You may pay online here or mail money order or other certified funds to CCCS, 5300 Lennox Avenue, Suite 200, Bakersfield, CA  93309.  Please note that if you pay online, it may take up to three business days for our bank to be notified that your funds have been transferred.

4.  After receipt of the Bankruptcy Affidavit, Bankruptcy Education Disclosure and $50 Fee, you will receive an email with a User ID and Password that will allow you to log in to the testing site at

Each partner in a marriage situation must complete the bankruptcy education program.  Please make sure each partner submits a separate Affidavit, Copy of ID, Disclosure and $50 fee to CCCS.

Upcoming 2008 classes on Tuesday evenings 8/19, 9/9, 9/23, 10/7 or 10/21.  Time: 5 pm to 7 pm
