Budgeting
"What happened to that $20 I took out of the ATM two days ago?" "How did my credit card balance get so high? I hardly ever use it." "I wish I had more money to pay bills." "How come I can never get ahead?" "Why does one little emergency throw my finances off for months (or longer)?" Does this sound like you? If so, CCCS has the answer. And the answer may surprise you. Having more money is not the answer. The answer is learning to manage well what you do have so you can get the most for your hard-earned dollars. CCCS offers budgeting workshops to help you gain control and stay in control of your finances.
Start viewing spending as a CHOICE, and learn to make the choices that really reflect your values and goals. For example, did you know that eating lunches out during the workweek amounts to $1250 every year if you spend $5 each day? Is this really where you want your money to go? If so, fine. Or, is there another choice you can make that really represents what you value? Maybe that choice would be increasing your savings by $1250, paying off high-interest credit cards, investing for retirement, or even eating a really nice dinner out once a week instead of fast food everyday. The choice is yours.
