Bankruptcy Education

This is the SECOND step you need to complete AFTER you have completed the pre-filing counseling and have filed for bankruptcy.  This education certificate is required before you can receive a discharge of your debts under the Bankruptcy Code.  Please scroll down if you want information classes held at the CCCS office.

SERVICES PROVIDED FOR CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS ONLY

ONLINE METHOD

1.  Print out Bankruptcy Affidavit.  Fill out completely and  mail ( or fax to 661-324-0750) the Affidavit, along with a copy of your valid photo ID, to CCCS, 5300 Lennox Avenue, Suite 200, Bakersfield, CA  93309.

2.  Print out Bankruptcy Education Disclosure.  Fill out completely and mail (or fax to 661-324-0750) to CCCS, 5300 Lennox Avenue, Suite 200, Bakersfield, CA  93309.

3.  Pay $50 (per person, even if joint) Bankruptcy Education Course Fee.  You may pay online here or mail money order or other certified funds to CCCS, 5300 Lennox Avenue, Suite 200, Bakersfield, CA  93309.  Please note that if you pay online, it may take up to three business days for our bank to be notified that your funds have been transferred.

4.  After receipt of the Bankruptcy Affidavit, Bankruptcy Education Disclosure and $50 Fee, you will receive an email with a User ID and Password that will allow you to log in to the testing site at: http://www.acce-online.com/moneyinmotion/studentlogin.php

Each partner in a marriage situation must complete the bankruptcy education program.  Please make sure each partner submits a separate Affidavit, Copy of ID, Disclosure and $50 fee to CCCS.

CCCS has received approval from the Executive Office of the United States Trustees to issue pre-discharge bankruptcy education certificates in compliance with the US Bankruptcy Code.** (SERVICES PROVIDED FOR CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS ONLY) CCCS of Kern & Tulare Counties has over 42 years of experience educating consumers and clients about money and credit. This agency is a member of the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC). The NFCC has high standards for quality credit counseling and financial education, and this agency complies with those standards. In addition, this agency is accredited by the Council on Accreditation, an independent third-party organization that reviews and monitors entities that provide social services. We are a non-profit agency. We are organized and operate in accordance with Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. We do not pay or receive fees or other considerations for referrals of debtor students to our agency. You have the option of taking our Bankrutpcy and Community Education Program, Money in Motion, in a classroom setting or online. A certified consumer credit counselor or teacher will be conducting or supervising the Money in Motionclasses. Please call 661-324-9628 for a classroom setting schedule. We will not disclose any such information that you provide orally or in writing to anyone, except as authorized by you in writing or as required by law. We may compile data in aggregate form; however, your information will not be disclosed in any manner that would personally identify you. To help cover the cost of providing this program to you, this agency charges a fee of $ 50 for the Money in Motionprogram. In limited circumstances you may be eligible to have this fee waived. We will not deny service due to an inability to pay. At the conclusion of Money in Motion, you will be provided with a certificate that you will need if you are filing for bankruptcy. You will need to provide us with your bankruptcy case number for this certificate.
